Mutton Curry
Ingredients
- 450g Mutton Pieces
- ½ teaspoon Cumin Powder
- ½ teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 225g sliced Onions
- 1 teaspoon chopped Green Chilles
- 1 teaspoon Tumeric Powder
- 85g Ghee or Butter
- 2 Cloves
- 25mm piece Cinnamon Stick
- 1 teaspoon ground Mustard Seeds or paste
- 1 teaspoon chopped Coriander Leaves
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 85g Tomatoes
- 450ml Water
- Salt to taste
Method
- Fry chopped onions until golden brown in butter.
- Add all other ingredients except meat, tomatoes coriander leaves and fry for 5 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and fry for a further 5 minutes.
- Add meat pieces and stir well, then add water.
- Cook on a low heat until meat is tender.
- Garnish the dish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve it hot with rice, chappaties or nan.
Note: Pork can also be cooked in the same way.
